ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) ? The owner of Maryland?s largest casino is urging state lawmakers to at least wait to see how casinos perform before adding a sixth.
David Cordish spoke on Friday to a work group of lawmakers who are considering how to expand gambling in the state.
He says he?s already put up more than $500 million to build a casino in Anne Arundel County set to open next week that he believes would lose business to a casino in Prince George?s County.
Cordish says he would have built a smaller casino, if he had known another one would open so soon near it.
Lawmakers are considering gambling expansion proposals for a potential special session in July. If lawmakers pass gambling measures, they would go on the ballot for voters to consider.
