Ju-Ju-Be Micra Be Laptop Bag

Comfortable and compact, the Ju-Ju-Be Micra Be Laptop bag ($90, direct) protects tablets, ereaders, small netbooks, and other flat electronics very well without weighing you down. Constructed with an eye toward details, this multipurpose electronics bag has several features that point toward a long life: secure stitching, metal fasteners and zipper pulls, and tough but washable fabric. The only thing holding back this bag from donning your shoulder for a decade or more is that it's not available in classic prints and colors. A small selection of prints, including "fuchsia blossoms" and "jungle maze" (shown) may look dated sooner than you'd like.

The 1-pound bag measures 8.5 by 11.5 by 2.5 inches (HWD). It has two tiered front storage sections, plus a quick-access pouch in the rear. When unzipped, the main pouch hinges open to almost 90 degrees with two compartments on the inside for small gear and an elastic strap on the flap side to hold your tablet in place. An iPad fits perfectly, as do netbooks smaller than about 12 inches. I wish the elastic band had been on the inside, however, as that seemed the more natural location for my tablet, rather than the part that folds outward.

The Micra Be's perforated foam cushioning and breathable lining help ensure your devices can cool down when you slip them into the bag. A soft inner lining in the main pouch, and in the pockets of the smaller front pouch, protects your gadgets from getting scratched. The bag also comes with a matching drawstring purse (6.5 by 5.75 inches) for storing cables, a mouse, or other small components.

I love that the fabric is both machine washable and easy to wipe down with a damp cloth for spot cleaning. The adjustable messenger strap felt comfortable while I walked a few miles one evening carrying the Micra Be.

The Ju-Ju-Be Micra Be Laptop bag securely and comfortably stores your gear, and is built to last many years. For its construction, I recommend it highly, but for its print designs, I only wish Ju-Ju-Be included a few more classic options.

Chinese official says Proview owns iPad trademark in China, court battle continues

Who knew some funky capitalization could cause so much trouble? Proview -- the purveyor of that 90s-era all-in-one called the iPAD -- hasn't let up in its fight to wrestle the rights to the iPad name from iPad maker Apple. The legal antics started in China, where Proview temporarily managed to get Apple's tablet booted off store shelves before being rebuffed by a Shanghai court -- after which the company promptly brought the case stateside. It's been all quiet on the iPad trademark front for a solid month now, but a report from All Things D indicates that the squabble is still going strong. Today the Chinese vice minister for the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (SAIC) declared that Proview is, in fact, the rightful owner of the iPad trademark. The SAIC has so far kept mum about the iPad trademark spat, so its decision to break that silence is sure to carry some weight when it comes time for the Chinese higher court to hand down its verdict.

Adam Lambert Questions "Catty" Members of the Gay Community

Adam Lambert covers the latest issue of Instinct, a magazine that focuses on the LGBT community - and opens up to the publication on a topic that may cause some controversy for the former American Idol star.

Adam Lambert Instinct Cover

"As a community, we’re a little bit resistant to a gay male pop star ourselves," Lambert says. "It’s very easy for people to look at my origin, which is American Idol, and automatically assume that I’m a commercial sellout or a puppet or a flash in the pan.

"I don’t think I’m any of those things. There’s something weird there. We’re very eager to celebrate a strong female. But to celebrate a fellow gay man – it gets catty sometimes.”

The artist will soon be coming out with a new album, one he has described as especially personal, and he elaborated here regarding what fans can expect:

“This is the kind of music I listen to. I know the style of vocal I have is kind of big. It has a certain edge to it. I’ve always loved rock, but I also love stuff that is more groove-based, more funky, more soulful, more dance music.”

Madrid beats Barcelona to move 7 points clear

PAMPLONA, Spain (AP) -Malaga stayed in the final Champions League qualifying spot in Spain after coming from behind to draw 1-1 draw at Osasuna on Monday following Santi Cazorla's second-half goal.

The Spain midfielder curled a shot from outside the area beyond diving goalkeeper Andres Fernandez in the 67th minute at Reyna de Navarro stadium.

An errant pass by Malaga goalkeeper Carlos Kameni in the 53rd allowed Alvaro Cejudo to cross for Juan "Nino" Martinez to head into the net at the far post.

Malaga was twice denied by the goal-frame but remains in fourth place, three points above closest chaser Levante. Osasuna moved within a point of sixth spot and the last Europa League berth.

Stakes high for United-City derby

The stakes have never been so high for a Manchester derby. United was in control of its own destiny until Sunday's 4-4 draw against Everton tipped the balance toward City, which can now win a first championship since 1968 if it wins its three remaining games.
